Peter Wellings has supplied some photos and historical information on Powder Mill, Furnace Bank Wood.

Peter believes that Powder Mill was originally an iron works but was converted into a Gunpowder Mill, from what he can tell, sometime before 1800. The Mill did blow up in 1855 with some losses he can see from archives but he does not know if it was rebuilt after this.

Chris Charter reports that he finally had the weatherboard delivered and has started repair work on Somerley Mill, Earnley.

He needs to replace two sides and repair areas of others before coating everything in tar to complete the waterproofing.
